Characteristics
L > C
"For an organisation to survive its rate of learning must be
equal to, or greater than, the rate of change in its external environment."
Reg Revans
Networking and engagement A mix
of stimulating input, knowledge cafes, small group workshops open forums
and conversations will ensure variety and engagement.
Exchanging ideas, not information The
aim is to exchange ideas and experiences, not information. Rather than
long presentations there will be shorter overviews, linked to on-line
research and resources.
Authentic conversations There will
be authentic conversations among participants after short stimulus sessions
and commentaries. The aim is not to defend entrenched positions but
to explore new territory.
Success and failure stories Narrative
will be used as a powerful way of sharing insights into professional
and organisational development.
Appreciative Inquiry The methodology
of Appreciative Inquiry will be used to engage participants in a positive
fashion by looking at what is working well in some parts of the system
and what could be applied elsewhere.
"What if
" thinking The forum will encourage
fresh thinking to explore emerging practices. Progress begins with the
question "What if
".
On-line forum An on-going web forum, hosted by Core Education,
will expand the breadth and depth of engagement. Readings and research
and the live forum's distilled proceedings will be available on-line
for pre-forum digestion and post-forum reinforcement and follow up.
