Education Leaders Forum Feedback 2008 |
| "We all enjoyed ELF, quite different to last year in content
yet what people spoke of in the round at the end was still the opportunity
to talk with people across the sectors....For me the highlight was meeting
David Gurteen. We have so much in common and had several excellent exchanges.
Thanks again." Geoff Pearman TEC
"Really enjoyed the Forum and found it very useful. Also made some good contacts I'm sure I'll keep in touch with. Thanks again for such a well organised and useful forum Cheers." Tim Barrable Director - Knowledge & Information Army General Staff - Knowledge & Information Directorate " Just a quick note to say 'thank you' for inviting me to attend ELF - the location and organisation of the event were second to none. I particularly enjoyed the second day, with the keynote talk and presentations by Stuart Middleton and Tim Barrable being very engaging and valuable." Yon Ankersmit, Fellowship Royal Society "I thoroughly enjoyed the Leaders forum last week. Motivational keynote addresses, scintillating discussion and debate on a wide range of issues but what was particularly pleasing was the ease with which everyone was able to interact and network. it was a memorable two days which hopefully left all with a feeling of confidence in educational leadership in NZ." Margaret Austin The Royal Society of NZ "Thanks to all involved in organising and running the forum. I found everyone approachable and helpful". Carol Mutch, ERO "Would be good to draw out the 'Leadership' emphasis more and also to begin the event with a more strategic intent ie: what we might aim for/goals of the programme." Derek Wenmoth, Core Education "Thank you much more space for reflective conversation this time around." Caroline Leys, Diocesan School for Girls "A very good forum for information and discussion. I hope you can help Robyn Baker be successful with her offer to host a think tank." Chris Mitchell, Axcell Institute "Sections on relevance of qualification would have been better if more focused. Good range of activity and keynotes." Jen McCutheon, TCS "Lyall you did an excellent job of creating an effective networking process that engaged the participants fully. " I thought ELF went very well this year- there were lots of positive comments" Deb Gilbertson, Te Kaihua Ltd "There were some themes that applied but our main concerns are around overlapping provision in tertiary education provision and funding. Good to add to contact in other areas of training and education. I think a less upmarket venue would have been fine. The workshop offered were all really great and I would have like to attend 80% of them, so it was a shame to be able to go to only two. Next year I would suggest people only have to choose between two at a time so they can go to more. The speakers were all great and the variety kept me interested, I found the working groups a little pointless and would have preferred more workshops with the presenters." Anna Paaka, NZITO "Very good. Somehow better than inaugural year and I'll think about why!" Russ Skinner, Skinnerstraegic "I thought it went very well.......some very positive comments in that last session when people expressed many things they got out of the event."
