Positive Psychology - Getting the most out of people

"Experiences that induce positive emotion cause negative emotion to dissipate rapidly. The strengths and virtues function to buffer against misfortune and they may be the key to building resilience" - Dr Martin Seligman, Authentic Happiness, 2002

New technology is an important enabler, but the real driver in business is relationships. Relating to colleagues and customers in a meaningful way leads to better business and improved productivity.

Award winning speaker Pat Armitstead uses Positive Psychology, pioneered by Dr Martin Seligman, to show how to get the most out of people at all levels of leadership, management, customer service and sales. According to Seligman the determinants for success are aptitude, motivation and optimism. The focus is on the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive in the face of challenges.

People perform to optimum when they work in a high trust environment and are rewarded for having fun doing what it is that they love.

- Humour and fun
- Integrity and trust
- Multiple intelligences
- Signature strengths
